Health Insurance Requirement

All new and continuing Emory University students are required to have health insurance.

DO YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR OWN HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE OUTSIDE OF EMORY? LEARN HOW TO WAIVE OUT OF EUSHIP.

If you wish to waive out of the Emory University Student Health Insurance Plan, complete these two steps (Oxford students go directly to Step 2):

  • Step 1.
    Log into the Student Patient Portal at www.shspnc.emory.edu and click on Insurance Card on the left-hand menu. Upload a photo of the front and back of your current health insurance card.
  • Step 2.
    Log into OPUS at opus.emory.edu and click on the "Health" tile on the homepage. Select "Submit Health Insurance Waiver" and follow the steps to complete the process. The waiver will be available beginning June 6, 2024.

 

Allow 5-7 business days for the verification process to conclude.

Email notification will be stored in the Communication Center in OPUS under the Student Center.
