In 2018, Emory University successfully became a self-insured (self-funded) student health insurance plan. As a self-insured plan, Emory will operate its own student health plan with Aetna Student Health as the plan administrators. There are significant benefits to being a self-insured plan, one of which is being able to stabilize the plan’s benefits and maintain premium costs.
EUSHIP Plan Changes for Fall 2022-2023:
- Annual 2022-23 Premium: $4,370
- Dependent Annual Premium $5,242
- Deductible: $200(Emory Core)/$500(in-network)/$750 (out of network)
- RX Copay: $15/$35/$65/$150
- July 31st – Coverage End Date for all students
If a student has not waived out of the Emory University Student Health Insurance Plan (EUSHIP) by the date of Emory’s pre-term Student Accounts and Billing bill, the student will be billed for the Emory University Student Health Insurance Plan. However, the student will still have until September 1st to complete a waiver and have the insurance enrollment (and charge) reversed. Students will need to complete the annual insurance enrollment/waiver process each year they are enrolled at Emory.
May 2020 Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Now Accepted
It is with great pleasure that EUSHS announces a confirmed managed care contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance products! This has been a long but necessary venture and we greatly appreciate the patience and understanding our parents and students have demonstrated over the years while we and our Emory Healthcare partners worked to resolve this issue. As with all plans, it is highly recommended that you contact your carrier to inquire about coverage and potential out of pocket expense responsibility. Please take a look at our updated financial, fees and insurance related concerns website page for further detail and information.
