Anonymous HIV and STI Testing
There are two ways for students to get HIV and STD testing at Emory University Student Health Services (EUSHS): anonymous testing and confidential testing.
The EUSHS Anonymous Testing Program offers tests for HIV antibodies. Students are seen by a counselor who is certified for HIV pre- and post-test counseling. Results are available in person one week after blood is drawn. Testing is completely anonymous since tests are identified only by a barcode number. No other identifying information is attached to the test. The program also offers confidential HIV antibody testing if needed, such as for travelers to certain countries, Peace Corp members, or military documentation. Testing is done by appointment only. Call (404) 727-5708 for information or to make an appointment or request an appointment or line via Your Patient Portal.
Students can also get confidential HIV and STD testing (chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B, herpes, syphilis, genital warts/HPV, and others) by making an appointment with a member of our clinical provider staff (call 404-727-7551 and select option 1 or request an appointment on-line through Your Patient Portal). Confidential test results, identified with the patient's name, become a part of the patient's confidential medical record at EUSHS. As is the case with all medical records, these records can only be released with a written consent for records release, except as required by law/court order.
