EUSHS is a SAFE SPACE

Emory University Student Health Services welcomes all Emory students and families. We are certified as a Safe Space by the Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Life. All staff at Student Health Services receive ongoing continuing education activities to enhance our skills in culturally appropriate healthcare delivery. In addition, our health educator and Certified Sexuality Counselor, Shirley Banks, is a member of the President’s Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Life at Emory, and is a Safe Space trainer for the Office of LGBT Life.
You can learn more about the Office of LGBT Life at http://www.emory.edu/CAMPUS_LIFE/LGBTOFFICE/
Emory students interested in helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment may join the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC). Please contact Lex Gilbert to learn more. You can email her at: agilbe5@emory.edu or you can reach her by phone at 404-727-1697.
If you have feedback about a specific interaction, policy, or other concern about Student Health Services and LGBT health care, we hope you will contact your health care provider or Shirley Banks at shirley.banks@emory.edu or 404-727-7312. Listening to students is the most important way for us to improve our services!
