In addition to our regular services, the Office of Health Promotion offers resources and support in other wellness areas. At this time, these include sleep consultations and information about nutrition and mindfulness.

Recognizing the important role sleep plays in academic success and stress reduction, we offer free consultations on strategies to help enhance your sleep. To schedule a consultation, contact Heath Zesiger, MPH, MCHES via secure message in Your Patient Portal or by phone directly at 404-727-1736. You may want to fill out a sleep diary in advance of your consultation. Additional information on sleep can be found in PDF form at the bottom of this page.

Mindfulness is important for good sleep and stress reduction to get you through high-pressure exams and paper writing. Below are a meditation log and a metta recitation to get you started on mindfulness and meditation.

While nutrition consultations are provided by Student Health Services, we do offer important resources for interested students. These resources, included as PDFs, are listed below.

For those interested in meditation, Bobbi Patterson of the Religion Department offers a Compassion Meditation group every Wednesday at 5pm in Cannon Chapel room 106. The group lasts for an hour and is open to everyone.

Free podcasts on health topics of interest to Emory students are available on in the Exclusively Emory section.

To access them: login (same as you would for OPUS), select “Campus Life” and then click on the “Health Promotion” album.

If iTunes is not installed on the computer you are using, you will need to download free software before proceeding.

We’ve created podcasts on sleep, stress, meditation, nutrition, hookahs, and more. You’ll also find videos and animated shorts including an introduction to Student Health and Counseling Services, healthy relationships, flu shots, and Swoop visits the doctor! We’re always eager to work with students interested in helping us develop and record podcasts.
