Get Involved

The Office of Health Promotion is focused on providing students with opportunities to engage with our office and wellness more broadly. We have a variety of opportunities for student engagement with our office, even if you are not planning on a career in health and wellness.

Our program Flourish Emory Initiative, FE, dares students to flourish and to change the culture at Emory to be more inclusive of health. There are several different levels for student engagement. Our other student organizations, the Alliance for Sexual Assault Prevention, Sexual Assault Peer Advocates, and Grads Against Violence, provide students with opportunities to engage around the topics of sexual assault and relationship violence prevention. With opportunities ranging from activism to providing training to other students, these groups provide engaged students with great opportunities to develop as leaders. The Health Promotion Advisory Committee provides guidance to the Director of Health Promotion.

We are also open to working with students as interns. Interested students are encouraged to learn more about the projects our interns have completed in the past, which have included planning the Emory at the Red Zone Rally, filming Project Unspoken, and developing the relationship mini-course Call Me Maybe. More information about availability and how to apply can be found here. Information about our different internship opportunities, including practicum experiences and work-study positions can be found here.

Students in their senior year interested in becoming involved with our office are encouraged to learn more about the RHD Fellow Program. The Fellow Program offers recent Emory graduates with a year of practical service working with our office and Residence Life and Housing.

Aspiring creatives with an interest in writing, photography, and video are encouraged to contact our RHD Fellow Troizel Carr at tdcarr@emory.edu for more information about becoming involved in our office. Opportunities include writing, filming videos for our monthly publication, filming and photographing events, and more.

If you have any questions about how to get involved with our office, contact Marc Cordon at marc.cordon@emory.edu or Heather Zesiger at heather.zesiger@emory.edu for more information.
