Confidentiality
The Counseling Center maintains strict rules of confidentiality. Information shared between client and counselor cannot be released to anyone--including family members or the University--without the consent of the student. The only exception to this rule is when extreme harm could come to the client or another person if confidentiality is maintained. In such a case, the counselor will then discuss with the client what he or she must do.
